April, 1 2008 Vimicro announced that it has shipped more than 5 million VC0336 web camera embedded processors, the most advanced web camera processor in the market, for high-end notebook PCs.

September 2007 Vimicro has applied for more than 1,000 international and domestic patents.

June 12, 2007 Vimicro announced the launch of the most advanced web camera processor, the VC0336, targeting attachable web cameras and laptop-embedded cameras. The VC0336 can stream video at 60 frames per second (fps) with a resolution of 0.3 mega pixels, 30 fps with a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels, and 20 fps with a resolution of 2.0 mega pixels.

Vimicro launched the Vinno Product Family, to target the fast growing mobile multimedia handset market, where the Vinno Product Family is considered as the industry leading single-chip mixed-signal mobile multimedia processor with the highest level of integration of the new multimedia functions.


November 15, 2005
Vimicro successfully completed the initial public offering on NASDAQ Security Market, becoming the first fabless chip company from China listed in NASDAQ.


April 2005
Vimicro's multimedia chip technologies won the first prize of National Science and Technology Advancement Award.

December 2004 Vimicro's series multimedia chip products won MII's "Key IT Industry Technology Innovation Award".

October 21st, 2004 Mobile Multimedia Technology Alliance (MMTA) was established in Beijng with Vimicro as one of the founding members along with Telecom Research Institute of MII, China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom, China Netcom, China Putian, Huawei, and ZTE. MMTA aims to explore and integrate the strength of different players within the mobile multimedia industry chain, promoting innovation and standardization of network, terminals and applications related to mobile multimedia technology.

August 11th, 2004
Vimicro officially launched "VMD partnership program" to build up mobile multimedia industry chain in Chinese market.

August 2004 National Parliament Congress Chairman Mr. Wu Bangguo once again appraised on the success of Vimicro Multimedia chips, especially on the development of core technologies and successful penetration into worldwide market.

February 2004 Vimicro joined Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Alliance as the first Chinese chip vendor.

December 28th, 2003 MII and Beijing municipal government held a joint event in the Great Hall to celebrate the achievements of Vimicro multimedia chip products, which grabbed the number one market share of PC USB camera processor

October 2003 Vimicro released the fifth chip product, the most advanced image processor for PC platform. It was widely adopted in new generation of cameras from vendors such as Logitech, Lenovo and Founder, and it also became China Telecom's only designated solution for broad video applications.

September 30th, 2003 Dr. John Deng, Vimicro Chairman, was awarded "Best Oversea Returnee Entrepreneur" from Chinese President Mr. Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Mr. Wen Jiabao.

September 18th, 2003 Microsoft-Vimicro Multimedia Technology Center was established in Beijing to develop next generation digital multimedia technologies and applications. The strategic partnership between the two companies entered a new era.Related Gov. Authorities /National Standard Committees
