The new-generation artificial intelligence is such an important technological field¡±, said Zhonghan Deng, NPC member, CAE academician and chief commander of ¡°Starlight China Chip Project¡±.
In recent years, our country¡¯s research accumulation in the artificial intelligence field has small gaps with that of developed countries. If artificial intelligence in our country can formulate the systematic promotion plan in the strategic aspect, it will be a great chance to realize breakthrough, improve comprehensive national strength and influence. Suggest that our country should set up the national laboratory of artificial intelligence as soon as possible¡±, said Deng Zhonghan.
The future decade will be the key period for the development of new-generation artificial development. At present, there are a small number of enterprises that focus on the development of artificial intelligence chip, the overall level of which has certain gap in comparison with the developed countries. Deng Zhonghan suggested that our country should strengthen input in terms of capital and policy. To set up ¡°national laboratory of artificial intelligence¡± is a great breakthrough. The national laboratory is characterized by stronger R&D strength, more coordination and cooperation, ability of mobilizing national resources and realizing breakthrough. Therefore, we can greatly develop our own independent chip technology that bears artificial intelligence, improve the passive situation that the high-end chips largely rely on import, form forceful support for constructing the core competitiveness of information technology industry and guaranteeing national information security and enable our country to preoccupy the development opportunity in the highly competitive artificial intelligence era.
