2003.9 Microsoft & Vimicro Multimedia Technology Center established in Beijing, which consists of three parties: Beijing Software Promotion Center, Microsoft China and Vimicro Corporation.
2003.5 Vimicro¡¯s VXP video communication system has been deployed at XiaoTangShan Hospital, a leading medical facility in Beijing, to facilitate its fight against SARS. This marks the first time that video communication system has ever been put into practice as part of the medical treatment process in China.
2003.2 Vimicro¡¯s VXP IV MMS chip has been adopted by Sprint PCS, the world¡¯s largest CDMA mobile communication operator as part of its PCS Vision mobile imaging solution to millions of users in US. This marks another important entry by China's IC vendor into the world¡¯s mainstream market with its totally owned state-of-the-art imaging and chip technology.
