A National Delegation With Over 50 Chinese Senates
from
the Chinese National Political and Consultation Committee
Visited Vimicro and Watched Technology Demonstration

On October 10, 2002, a national delegation with over 50 Chinese
Senates from the Chinese National Political and Consultation Committee
visited Vimicro Corporation. This delegation was led by Mr. Guanhua
Xu, Minister of Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, and
Ms. Wenyi Lin, Vice Mayor of Beijing municipal government.
During this visit, Mr. Xu gave high marks to Vimicro's achievements
in the imaging IC design field. "Vimicro's focus on research and
development of chip products based on proprietary intellectual properties
provides an excellent model for the Chinese information industry,"
said Mr. Xu, "This approach will eventually make Chinese companies
more competitive in the global market."
"Vimicro is one of the leading high tech companies in ZhongGuanChun,
and has made great contribution to the rapid growth of Chinese information
industry. Beijing municipal government will always be the strong
supporter behind enterprises such as Vimicro." Ms. Lin said.
The delegation was especially impressed with the "VXP-1" imaging
chip from Vimicro, which is not only a well engineered system-on-chip
imaging IC, but also a commercial success that has been well accepted
in the worldwide market of web camera products.
