Vimicro, a leading multimedia IC designer, recently announced
the appointment of four new members of the Board of Directors
- Donald L. Lucas, Theodore Van Duzer, Robert Chen, and Vince
Feng.

The new board members contribute varied professional backgrounds.
Donald L. Lucas currently serves as a board member
of 51job, Inc., Cadence Design Systems, Inc., Macromedia, Inc.,
Oracle Corporation and PDF Solutions, Inc. He also serves as directors
for several privately held companies. Mr. Lucas is the chairman
of the board of directors of the Stanford Institute for Economic
Policy and Research and a trustee of the University of Santa Clara.
In 1960, Mr. Lucas began a seven-year participation, including
acting as both a general partner and a limited partner with Draper,
Gaither & Anderson, the first venture capital firm organized
on the West Coast in the United States. Since 1967, Mr. Lucas
has been actively engaged in various venture capital activities.
Mr. Lucas received his B.A. degree from Stanford University and
his M.B.A. degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
has served as a member of our board of directors since July 2004.

Dr. Theodore Van Duzer is a professor in the Department
of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at University of
California, Berkeley. He is also a member of U.S. Academy of Engineering
and an IEEE Life Fellow. Dr. Van Duzer is the founding editor-in-chief
of IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity. He is also
the co-author of two textbooks, "Principles of Superconductive
Devices and Circuits" and "Fields and Waves in Communication
Electronics" and has published widely in the research literature
on superconductor electronics. Dr. Van Duzer received his Ph.D.
degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1960 and
has served as a member of its faculty since 1961.

Robert Chen founded MPS, a fabless semiconductor
company focused on power management chips, in 1997. In 1990, Mr.
Chen founded OPTI in Silicon Valley, which was a fabless semiconductor
company focused on PC motherboard chipset design and was listed
on NASDAQ in 1993. In 1985, Mr. Chen founded TMC in Taiwan, a
PC motherboard manufacturer which was later acquired by a German
listed company. As a venture capitalist, Mr. Chen has invested
in more than 20 companies since 1990 and was a partner of Fortune
Investment in Taiwan from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Chen received his
M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California
at Berkeley.

Vince Feng is a partner at General Atlantic Partners,
LLC, a worldwide private equity firm, where he has worked since
1998. Mr. Feng established General Atlantic's Hong Kong office
in 1999 and has been leading General Atlantic's east Asia investment
initiatives with a focus on the embedded, consumer and business
service sectors. Mr. Feng currently serves as a director of Data
Systems Consulting and an observer on the board of Digital China.
Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Feng worked as an analyst
with Goldman Sachs in Asia focusing on mergers and acquisitions
and principal investment. Mr. Feng holds a B.A. with high honors
in Social Studies from Harvard University, and an M.B.A. degree
from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
