On June 5, 2004, Liu Qi, Party Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee, together with other senior municipal government officials visited Vimcro's new office in Zhongguangcun Science and Technology Park. Mr. Liu and Dr. John Deng, CEO of Vimicro had a productive conversation over Vimicro's "China Chip Project". Under this government initiated project, Vimicro has successfully brought into market series of its proprietary multimedia chip and currently represents over 60% percent of the global PC camera chip market. Dr. Deng also introduced Mr. Liu and other municipal officials to the company's plan to contribute to the "2008 Olympic Project".

Since it's inception 5 years ago, Vimicro has drawn a great deal of attention and support from Beijing Municipal government with its contribution to Beijing's technology development.
