Vimicro's mobile chip series became the focal point at
China's first ever "Mobile Communication Products and Applications
Summit"
Beijing, China, Jan. 23 - Today, China's first ever
summit on mobile communication products and applications
was held in Beijing, sponsored by China's Ministry of Information
Technology (MII). At the focus is Vimicro's mobile chip
series, including the mobile imaging processing chip, which
allows pictures taken at anywhere and sent to anyone at
anytime via MMS, and the MIDI chip, which replaces monotonic
ring bells with full varieties of music clips. MII intends
to take this opportunity to further promote the collaboration
between Vimicro and other industry bellwethers like, China
Mobile, China Unicom, Bird, TCL, etc., to establish China's
own mobile communication supply chain and enable the next
generation of China's cell phones be built upon its own
IPs for the first time ever. Earlier, Samsung has adopted
these chips in its own mobile phone series provided to Sprint
PCS, one of the largest telecom operators in US.
