VC0938 is the next generation mobile audio processor, specially designed to provide crispy ring tones, popular MP3 music, and rich game sounds for mobile phones. The chip integrates 64-polyphony Wavetable MIDI synthesizer, full MIDI GM Preset ROM, MP3 decoder, 16-bit 48 KHz Delta-Sigma DAC, Stereo Headphone driver and Speaker Power Amplifier into a 6.5mm x 5.5mm 40-pin LPCC Package. VC0938 also comes with several innovative features, such as User-Defined Musical Instrument, User-Defined Sound Effect, Vibrator controlled by Rhythm, RGB color LED controlled by Rhythm, Caller ID, Hands-free Operation, Media Playback to Stereo Headphone, mobile Karaoke, etc. VC0938 supports various MIDI file formats, such as SMF (Standard MIDI Format), SP-MIDI (Scalable Polyphonic MIDI), SMAF (Synthetic music Mobile Application Format), VMD (Versatile MIDI), etc. While generating MIDI music, VC0938 can also play real-time audio stream in PCM or ADPCM format. The MP3 decoder supports both ISO 11172-3 and ISO 13818-3 layer III audio decoding.
